Police: Zimmerman says Trayvon decked him with one blow then began hammering his head

With a single punch, Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who eventually shot and killed the unarmed 17-year-old, then Trayvon climbed on top of George Zimmerman and slammed his head into the sidewalk, leaving him bloody and battered, law-enforcement authorities told the Orlando Sentinel.

That is the account Zimmerman gave police, and much of it has been corroborated by witnesses, authorities say. There have been no reports that a witness saw the initial punch Zimmerman told police about.

Zimmerman has not spoken publicly about what happened Feb. 26. But that night, and in later meetings, he described and re-enacted for police what he says took place.

In his version of events, Zimmerman had turned around and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from behind, the two exchanged words and then Trayvon punched him in the nose, sending him to the ground, and began beating him.

Occupy Wall Street agrees this case needs to be investigated, all the facts need to come out first before people jump to conclusions.

Will Maine give Republican Paul his first win?

He is the only one of the four contenders for the Republican presidential nomination not to have won a state primary or caucus.

But on Saturday, Ron Paul could get his best shot at a victory in Maine, the cold, far northeastern state that has given a warm reception to his libertarian views.

Local caucusing has been under way in Maine since January 29, and will continue in a few towns until March. Even so, the state Republican Party will announce the winner of its presidential straw poll on Saturday, and the Texas congressman’s strong on-the-ground organization could have a big impact.

Mitt Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts, generally is viewed as the favorite here, and in the overall Republican race. After losing the last three state contests to Rick Santorum, a former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, Romney is thirsty for a morale-boosting win in Maine, where he won 52 percent of the vote during his unsuccessful run for president in 2008.

Lamar Smith, the scumbag behind SOPA, is up for re-election this year. Let’s make sure his opponent wins!

Not only is Smith the one who introduced SOPA; he’s also the one who blocked the Frank-Ron Paul marijuana legalization bill from ever reaching the House floor.

His opponent, Sheriff Richard Mack, is by no means the kind of candidate that Occupy Wall Street would ever support. However, this is a very conservative Texas district, so it’s not like we have much choice. What’s important is that this will get Lamar Smith off the judiciary committee and demonstrate that we will not tolerate bills like SOPA. Plus, Mack does have a bit of a libertarian streak and opposes the War on Drugs.

His district is heavily gerrymandered, so it won’t be easy to get rid of him. We’re in for an uphill battle here.

Help get Sheriff Mack elected!

CNN cuts out when Soldier is discussing his support for Ron Paul

Right when the soldier starts talking about how Ron Paul doesn’t support bombing Iran, the feed is cut.

How is this type of stuff happening in America? All this censorship surrounding Ron Paul (CNN, MSNBC & of course Fox)… then there’s the real possibility of SOPA… Obama signing NDAA which can detain Americans indefinitely… no crooks from Wall Street behind bars…the recession, high unemployment, the rich getting richer, the middle class being wiped out… things are getting worse and worse with no end in site.

Ron Paul: The Voice of Reason?

He certainly has his eccentricities, but in last night’s Republican debate, Ron Paul seemed to be the only grownup in the room.

Ron PaulI know Ron Paul can be zany, especially when it comes to abolishing the Fed, returning to the gold standard and reducing the federal government to a mom-and-pop-sized enterprise.

He certainly has his eccentricities, such as refusing to wear a seat belt in a car, or a helmet when bicycling, both of which he apparently regards as nanny-state interferences in his constitutionally-protected right to kill himself.

But in last night’s Republican debate, when his fellow candidates were falling over themselves in declaring their willingness to bomb Iran back to the stone age, he was the grown-up, the one voice that warned that what they were talking about would be “another Iraq,” or worse. He also repeated his call to get U.S. troops out of Afghanistan and generally to avoid meddling in other nations’ affairs. Occupy Wall Street loves his ideas.
