Ron Paul Is Going to the Republican National Convention, and – Believe It Or Not – It’s Still Possible for Paul to Score an Upset Win Over Mitt Romney

Ron Paul wins Maine! Ron Paul wins Minnesota! Ron Paul wins Iowa! Ron Paul wins Nevada! Ron Paul wins Louisiana! The wins just keep coming in.  His delegate strategy is working no matter how hard the crooks with Romney try and stop him. Occupy Wall Street couldn’t be more pleased.

On Wednesday, the Washington Post tallied Ron Paul’s gains in various states:

At Massachusetts’ state convention less than half of Romney’s 27 chosen delegates won tickets to Tampa. Paul supporters were chosen instead. While all of the state’s delegates are committed to vote for Romney, the delegates get to decide on the party chairman, platform, and VP nominee. …Paul supporters are a majority in the Iowa GOP’s State Central Committee, and he’s set to claim a majority of the state’s delegates despite finishing third in the caucuses.

They dominated the caucuses in Louisiana, carrying four out of six congressional districts with a tie in a fifth. That means 74 percent of the state’s convention delegates will be Paul backers.

In Minnesota, Paul won 20 of 24 delegates allocated at congressional district conventions, and he’s expected to take more at the statewide convention.

Occupy Wall Street: Rick Santorum drops out of the presidential race

Rick Santorum announced Tuesday that he is suspending his presidential campaign, all but bringing to a close the 2012 GOP presidential contest and effectively handing the nomination to Mitt Romney.

“We made a decision over the weekend that, while this presidential race for us is over — for me — and we will suspend our campaign effective today, we are not done fighting,” Santorum said at a campaign event in Gettysburg, Pa., the site of the historic and pivotal Civil War battle.

The former Pennsylvania senator had been Romney’s top opponent, but he suffered a trio of defeats last week in Wisconsin, Maryland and the District of Columbia, and over the weekend his daughter, Bella, was hospitalized for the second time this campaign due to complications from a rare genetic disorder.

Occupy Wall Street could not be happier with this.

Whitehouse endorsing SOPA once again. Smack down time.

Can you believe this?  After the largest online protest in history, the Obama administration is still voicing support for SOPA.

Tell Obama to promise: “I will never advance legislation that blocks websites or disconnects Americans’ internet access.”

Just the other day, the administration sent a letter to Congress to demonstrate their support for new internet censorship legislation. Victoria Espinel, Obama’s so-called “copyright czar” just said: “We still need legislation for blocking foreign websites.” You can read the full statement here.

Occupy Wall Street says sign the petition here.

America’s 1% never had it so good. Another 10% or so are OK. Most others face harder than ever hard times with no end of misery in sight. Expect no change post-November, no matter who’s elected president or controls Congress. Economist Paul Craig Roberts calls America’s economy “dead.”

What can’t go on forever, won’t. Progressive Radio News Hour guest Bob Chapman warned investors for years. It’s just a matter of time. Houses built on sand collapse. American and European economies are no exception. They’re sick and getting sicker.

Another Greek crisis approaches, Chapman warns, whether “via austerity, demonstrations, military coup,” or perhaps the worst of all three if public rage erupts in violence.

Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, Spain and italy are next. BRIC giants China, India and Brazil are weakening. Pyrrhic victories conceal core meltdown trouble. Are policy makers “dumb enough to believe that austerity, lower wages and higher taxes bring prosperity?” What’s happening in Europe and America looks “surreal.” Recovery’s an illusion.

Another dirty secret is that France, Britain, and other EU countries also show weakness. “These problems are going to go on and on and on,” says Chapman.

Economist David Rosenberg also warns of trouble. Disturbing signs are everywhere. In America alone, consumer spending stagnated. Core capex shipments are down. The trade deficit’s widening. Mortgage applications are falling. Mortgage refinancing activity collapsed. Gas prices are heading for $4 a gallon on their way perhaps to 5.

This is what Occupy Wall Street is fighting for.

Occupy Wall Street plotting spring chaos. Targets include DNC, NATO, G-8 summits.

Occupy Wall Street
A coalition of U.S. radical groups, including the Occupy Movement, are preparing protests to start in September, including the targeting of the Democratic National Convention that takes place that month in Charlotte, N.C.

The Occupy movement is likely to escalate months before the Sept. 3-6 event. A slew of extremist organizations, some tied to Obama, are preparing protests to coincide with major NATO and G-8 summits slated for Chicago in May.

Foreshadowing possible violent confrontations, some of the same radical trainers behind the infamous 1999 Seattle riots against the World Trade Organization have been mobilizing new protest efforts geared toward world summits.

The plans for the Democratic convention are posted on a central website, ProtestDNC.org. More than three dozen organizations, including labor, anti-war and so-called civil rights and immigrants rights groups are joining together to initiate a coalition.

The group calls for:

  • Good jobs for all! Economic justice now – Make the banks and corporations pay for their crisis!
  • Money for education, health care, housing and all human needs, not for war and incarceration!
  • Justice for immigrants and all oppressed peoples! Stop the raids and deportations!

The protest coalition is complaining that the city of Charlotte has already denied their requests for permits to march. The city told the coalition that the DNC itself has reserved major parks in Charlotte during the convention.

Goodbye, First Amendment: ‘Trespass Bill’ will make protest illegal

Just when you thought the government couldn’t ruin the First Amendment any further: The House of Representatives approved a bill on Monday that outlaws protests in instances where some government officials are nearby, whether or not you even know it.

The US House of Representatives voted 388-to-3 in favor of H.R. 347 late Monday, a bill which is being dubbed the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011. In the bill, Congress officially makes it illegal to trespass on the grounds of the White House, which, on the surface, seems not just harmless and necessary, but somewhat shocking that such a rule isn’t already on the books. The wording in the bill, however, extends to allow the government to go after much more than tourists that transverse the wrought iron White House fence.

Under the act, the government is also given the power to bring charges against Americans engaged in political protest anywhere in the country.

Under current law, White House trespassers are prosecuted under a local ordinance, a Washington, DC legislation that can bring misdemeanor charges for anyone trying to get close to the president without authorization. Under H.R. 347, a federal law will formally be applied to such instances, but will also allow the government to bring charges to protesters (like Occupy Wall Street), demonstrators and activists at political events and other outings across America.

Banker’s Insulting Waitress Tip Incites Class Warfare Between the 1% and the 99%

Just when you may have thought the ongoing battle between the 99% and the 1% was dying down, it may have been reignited. A wealthy banker left a $1.33 tip on a $133 lunch at the True Food Kitchen restaurant in Newport Beach, California.

To add insult to injury the word “tip” was circled on the receipt, and the banker wrote “get a real job” on the bill. The picture of the receipt was taken and uploaded to the blog Future Ex-Banker by a person who was dining with the anonymous banker. As expected, the blog received a lot of attention and has now been taken down. The author of the blog wrote, “mention the 99% in my boss’ presence and feel his wrath. So proudly does he wear his 1% badge of honor that he tips exactly 1% every time he feels the server doesn’t sufficiently bow down to his holiness.”

People online who had a chance to see the blog post before it went offline and those who have been made aware of it on social media outlets are outraged. One person called the tip a “tale of greed and contempt,” and another referred to it as “arrogance personified.” The Web’s general reaction to this story is eerily similar to an almost identical 1% vs. 99% scenario that took place last fall. In Washington state, a waitress received a tip of no money and advice scrawled on the receipt that told her she could “stand to lose a few pounds.”

I know I’m supposed to represent Occupy Wall Street here and a story like this normally would enrage me, but personally… I think it’s a hoax.  Something just to stir up trouble and get people talking.  Though, if the people are talking that is great. So maybe something good can come out of this.

What Rick Santorum's Gmail inbox looks like
Occupy Wall Street does not like Rick Santorum. He would bring us all back to the 12th century. Anyone that would vote for him is stupid. I wish I knew someone that would vote for him just so I could debate them. I have too many Ron Paul friends.

Occupy Wall Street protesters sue New York City over pepper spray incident; in a viral online video, Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna was shown pepper-spraying several protesters involved in a march in September

(Reuters) – Two women caught on camera being doused with pepper spray by a New York police officer during an Occupy Wall Street march in September have sued the city, saying it failed to train police officers properly.

In a viral online video, Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna was shown pepper-spraying several protesters involved in a march in September, about a week after the Occupy Wall Street movement set up camp in a park in the city’s financial district.

The video helped draw attention to the Occupy protests, which spread throughout the country last fall with calls for greater economic equality before the movement lost some ground as many U.S. cities evicted them from tent camp footholds.

Romney, Gingrich, and Santorum: The Unholy Trinity Of Intolerance And Hate

There is a saying, familiarity breeds contempt and it basically means the better we know people, the more likely we are to find fault with them. For the past year, Americans have become familiar with Republicans and as polls are showing, it is easy to find fault with their contempt for America and its people who are not rich or ultra-religious. In fact, as voters familiarize themselves with Republicans seeking the nomination for the president, there are signs that more Americans find fault with their hate-inspired rhetoric and propensity for lying and are summarily rejecting them . However, there is a segment of America that embraces hateful Republicans because they are familiar and approve of their vicious rhetoric towards gays, the poor, women, minorities, and especially President Obama.

Throughout the past week, notes Occupy Wall Street, reports from the CPAC conference provide clear signs that the group of conservatives do not represent main-stream America and instead are a vocal minority that represents all that is wrong in this country. The four remaining Republican candidates exemplify intolerance, divisiveness, and a growing desire to return to this country’s darkest era and their band of supporters are no better. Fortunately, most Americans do not subscribe to the divisive conservative agenda, but Republicans are too engorged with hate to see that their vision of America is contrary to the hopes and dreams most Americans aspire to.

Judge Napolitano was the only one on Fox News who made any sense, and now he’s gone

Judge Napolitano was the only show on Fox News that actually made any sense, and now his show is cancelled. He was the only one on Fox that actually reported on Occupy Wall Street and NDAA. He was the only guy on Fox that actually told the truth from an outside viewpoint without an agenda and now he’s gone.  A lot of people are saying this is the video that got his show cancelled… you be the judge. Keep in mind this video actually aired on Fox, yes seriously, Fox News.  Actually I’m really surprised Judge Napolitano was on Fox as long as he was.

Way to go Fox! Keep up your right wing, religious nut job extremist agenda of fear and intolerance!

Occupy Wall Street, Libertarians and Tea Party Activists Unite Against the NDAA

On  Monday 13, February 2012, at noon, in Medford Oregon,  a demonstration will take place at Vogel Plaza against the passing of the NDAA. What is unusual about this action, and could be an indication of  similar actions on other issues, is that it is uniting American citizens from across the political spectrum. The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which was signed into law on December 31, 2011, is an assault on freedom and civil liberties.

Protesting will be members of Occupy Wall Street, Libertarians and the Tea Party Activists.

Like Iowa, more dirty tricks in Maine to insure Romney inevitability. Paul refuses to concede.

In an effort to insure a Romney nomination, it appears he and the republican establishment have resorted to more cheating and dirty tricks.

Last night the Ron Paul campaign sent an email to supporters regarding the caucus results from Maine. Below is a portion of the comments by Paul’s campaign manager John Tate.

“Ron Paul will win the most delegates out of Maine tonight.

In fact, he will probably even win the ‘beauty contest’ straw poll the media has already called for Mitt Romney – even before all the votes have been tallied.

In Washington County – where Ron Paul was incredibly strong – the caucus was delayed until next week just so the votes wouldn’t be reported by the national media today.

Occupy Wall Street thinks this is as horrible as horrible can get.

Will Maine give Republican Paul his first win?

He is the only one of the four contenders for the Republican presidential nomination not to have won a state primary or caucus.

But on Saturday, Ron Paul could get his best shot at a victory in Maine, the cold, far northeastern state that has given a warm reception to his libertarian views.

Local caucusing has been under way in Maine since January 29, and will continue in a few towns until March. Even so, the state Republican Party will announce the winner of its presidential straw poll on Saturday, and the Texas congressman’s strong on-the-ground organization could have a big impact.

Mitt Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts, generally is viewed as the favorite here, and in the overall Republican race. After losing the last three state contests to Rick Santorum, a former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, Romney is thirsty for a morale-boosting win in Maine, where he won 52 percent of the vote during his unsuccessful run for president in 2008.
